Southwest Housing Compliance Corporation (SHCC) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting payment processing and compliance efforts in a fast-paced, accuracy-driven environment. SHCC has proudly served the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a high-performing Contract Administrator for over 24 years. Through this work, we serve over 80,000 households across Texas and Arkansas, ensuring access to safe and healthy housing in alignment with HUD's mission. What you will do in this position: Review monthly Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) vouchers submitted by O/As to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HUD regulations. Identify and resolve discrepancies before processing payments. Cross-check tenant certification data (such as move-ins, move-outs, income changes) with voucher line items. Investigate any inconsistencies or anomalies and communicate clearly with O/As to resolve issues. Serve as a primary point of contact for O/As regarding payment and compliance questions. Provide clear, courteous, and professional support by phone and email, often needing to explain technical housing or data requirements. Create and maintain accurate digital and physical records of payment processing actions, correspondence, and resolutions in accordance with HUD and SHCC auditing standards. Enter case information into SHCC's proprietary STARS system to ensure proper tracking, routing, and reporting of tasks. Maintain updated status notes and ensure all workflow steps are completed accurately and timely. Help ensure that all payment and reconciliation processes adhere strictly to HUD policies and SHCC's quality assurance protocols. Escalate noncompliance issues as needed to senior staff. Manage a consistent monthly workflow tied to strict internal and external deadlines. Proactively organize tasks to ensure HUD payment deadlines are met without errors or delays. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders. Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook).
