Senior Director - Facilities Management

The Senior Director-Facilities Management for the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is primarily responsible for the operational and strategic effectiveness of the teams and processes maintaining and improving the buildings, grounds and infrastructure on the UMMC campus. Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Master's degree and five years of operational leadership experience. Certifications, Licenses or Registration required:

Valid US Driver's License and MS Driver's license required post-hire within 30 days. Preferred Qualifications:

Business, Facilities, or Engineering experience in the healthcare sector. Professional architect or engineering license. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong business acumen and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of individuals and functional areas. Skill in the use of computers and relevant software programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel). Ability to analyze and interpret complex data. Exceptional communication skills. Demonstrated experience with contracts and budget management. Responsibilities: Responsible for the functionality, maintenance, effectiveness and development of all the University of Mississippi Medical Center Facilities. Collaborates with finance leadership to prepare and administer an annual budget; monitors expenditures and implements measures to increase productivity, assure adherence to established budgetary guidelines, and maximize the utilization of space and resources. Develops and implements short- and long-range facilities goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness and implements improvements as required. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to accomplish organizational goals and objectives; supervises employees to include work allocation, training, evaluation, and problem resolution. Establishes and maintains environment, energy, design, functionality and physical planning goals for all campus development. Provides executive management and facilitation of master planning in support of the goals of UMMC in conjunction with the Office of the Vice Chancellor. Ensures compliance with local, state and national accrediting/licensing organizations. Effectively represents University of Mississippi Medical Center in the community, professional organizations, and other relevant forums. Maintains knowledge of computer software to aid in the design and implementation of projects. Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, occasional sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking.
