Job Title: Retail Strategy Specialist FLSA Status: Salaried Reports To: Director of Business Analytics The Retail Strategy Specialist supports the day-to-day implementation and execution of strategic pricing programs for seasonal assortments, vendor sponsored deal programs and every-day price positioning to drive market share and achieve financial targets. The Specialist applies business rules and strategic pricing methods across the corporate assortment that requires close collaboration with Buying Teams in order to balance non-promotional activity with planned multi-channel promotions. The Specialist may also assist with report development, compliance monitoring and developing standard work processes. The Specialist is part of a growing team of individuals with a continuous improvement and data-driven mind-set. Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyzes and sets pricing for vendor and distributor funded deal programs and routine cost changes while considering merchandising strategies by business segment, the competitive environment & financial objectives. Executes a comprehensive cyclical pricing review process that accounts for item size and private label versus national brand relationships along with the strategic role of individual categories and their associated product mix. Collaborates with Merchandising to develop pricing plans for seasonal programs. Ensures data integrity is maintained at a very high standard and initiates corrective actions to fix issues and assist with coaching internal personnel. Communicates with internal and external team members to convey strategic pricing methods, rules and guidelines. Identifies pricing opportunities and presents findings and recommendations to key stakeholders. Assists with creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for areas of responsibility to ensure execution compliance, process consistency and sustainability. Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences Other duties as assigned Qualifications Strong analytic ability, problem solving skills and business acumen Highly functional in MS Office with a strong emphasis in Excel Demonstrated ability to deliver results through indirect leadership Skilled at initiating and facilitating communication with key stakeholders Bachelor's degree or 3 years related work experience preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment Professional presence and proper phone and e-mail etiquette is required Sitting/standing at a desk/computer 75% of the time The position requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity Work Schedule The Retail Strategy Specialist position is a salaried, full-time position.
