Regulatory Filings Manager
Collaborate with the operating company leadership teams to manage and develop the overall strategy of regulatory filings to state regulatory agencies. Including the development of state specific strategies that address the unique circumstances of the jurisdiction while avoiding direct conflicts with positions taken by affiliated entities in such a manner as to maximize overall corporate benefits. Provide guidance and support to a team of experienced case managers. What You'll Do: Lead broad-based efforts to develop, file, and manage major filings with state regulatory commissions, in coordination with the operating companies. Supports and guides the rate regulated subsidiaries of AEP. Coordinate the overall process for the filings, including responsibility for accuracy and completeness of required schedules, and identification of witnesses and development of testimony. Responsible for incorporating corporate regulatory strategy and assisting in the development legislative positions. Responsible for developing and/or evaluating settlement offers in various rate cases and determining the overall value as compared to an expected litigated outcome. Provide input and guidance into the decision process on key strategic issues shaping the companies' regulatory initiatives. Support development of strategic alternatives and analysis, and recommendations for resolution of major regulatory issues. Provide recommendations on legislative changes to maintain or improve the regulatory environment. Develop teams and networks that extend through the company. Responsible for providing guidance and support to a team of experienced case managers. Maintain knowledge of trends and policies within the commissions that affect the companies' operations. This includes regulatory decisions, rules and information requirements. Support operating companies in carrying out their responsibilities to maintain appropriate business relationships with state commissions by providing data, analysis, and recommendations, as necessary. Develop and leverage relationships with key stakeholders in the various jurisdictions. What We're Looking For: Education: Bachelor's degree; Engineering or Accounting degrees preferred. Work Experience: 10 years regulatory or policy experience. Cost of Service, Financial, Accounting and/or Engineering backgrounds are beneficial. MBA preferred.
