Manufacturing Operations Manager

Our client is currently seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager to spearhead their manufacturing and fabrication operations situated just outside of Tampa, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all production processes, managing inventory and procurement activities, and ensuring the meticulous and compliant fulfillment of internal orders. Prior experience in road sign manufacturing, a solid grasp of DOT specifications, and the ability to assume full ownership of operations swiftly are key qualifications for this direct hire opportunity. Manufacturing Operations Manager Role: Act as the primary leader for the shop division, reporting directly to executive leadership Supervise production and fabrication operations Interpret DOT signing plans to determine specifications, materials, and quantities required Process internal orders from operating branches and ensure timely fulfillment Manage procurement activities and negotiate pricing with vendors and suppliers Maintain relationships with suppliers, overseeing the purchasing of sheet metal and other raw materials Supervise inventory management, including tracking, distribution, and reordering processes Organize and manage logistics for outbound deliveries to branch locations, utilizing internal and contracted transportation Ensure accurate rounding, cutting, and fabrication processes utilizing in-house tools Provide support to shop staff, oversee daily operations, and implement accountability measures Guarantee safety, compliance, and quality control at every stage of the production process Identify opportunities for operational efficiency enhancements and continuous improvement Deliver excellent customer service to internal stakeholders Manufacturing Operations Manager Background Profile: Prior direct experience in road sign manufacturing is mandatory
