Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled
System Engineer
to join our IT team. The System Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, deep technical expertise, and a proactive approach to maintaining system health, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain physical and virtual server environments (Windows and/or Linux). Administer and monitor systems, including backup, patch management, antivirus, and system updates. Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file systems, and user access permissions. Support and maintain virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid environments. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner. Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and infrastructure diagrams. Collaborate with security and network teams to ensure secure and compliant systems. Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and migrations with minimal disruption to users. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience as a System Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role. Proficient with Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), and virtualization technologies. Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, and Office 365. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid infrastructure setups. Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls). Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) is a plus. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Server+, VMware VCP, or AWS/Azure are a plus. Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk). Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices. Working Conditions:
On-site M-F, with flexibility available based on Company needs. May require occasional evening or weekend support for critical issues or updates. On-call availability may be necessary.
