Leak Detection Engineer
The Leak Detection Engineer develops, implements and monitors real-time transient models for Targa's pipeline leak detection system. The leak detection engineer will work with the leak detection manager, SCADA team, pipeline controllers, pipeline operations staff and third-party contractors as part of Targa's leak detection effort. Job Functions And Key Responsibilities: Building real-time transient models of Targa's pipeline assets Debugging, troubleshooting and tuning the models Monitoring the models for leak warnings and alarms Investigating alarms Complete leak investigations Troubleshooting false alarms On call to receive calls to support potential leaks Up to 20% travel Other duties as required Minimum Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in leak detection modeling Minimum of 7 years in pipeline engineering and/or operations Be flexible and able to adapt to a change in work priorities and manage multiple projects with short turnaround time Ability to support any afterhours leak detection alarms Excellent written and oral communication skill Willingness to work or travel to Sulphur, LA Regular and reliable attendance Preferred Qualifications: Experience with computational pipeline monitoring leak detection Experience with Emerson Pipeline Manager Experience with data analysis techniques and statistics Familiarity with SCADA systems Equal Employment Opportunity: Targa Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work-related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
