Job Summary

The Managed Services Technical Administrator is a hands-on technical expert responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of remote monitoring and management (RMM) and mobile device management (MDM) platforms across Spencer's managed services clients. This role owns the full device lifecycle, from onboarding and provisioning to patching, automation, and decommissioning, while ensuring security, reliability, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is passionate about endpoint management, service automation, and enabling client success through hands-on expertise and a commitment to best-in-class service.

Primary Responsibilities RMM/MDM Platform Administration:

Configure, administer, and optimize core management platforms (agent deployment, dashboard setup, alerting, integrations, permissions, and reporting).

Device Lifecycle Management:

Oversee onboarding, provisioning, remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of client devices.

Patch & Configuration Management:

Execute system and software patching, firmware upgrades, and configuration changes to maintain security and compliance.

Automation & Self-Healing:

Develop and implement automation workflows for monitoring, patch management, and self-healing remediation to drive operational efficiency.

Troubleshooting & Incident Response:

Serve as the technical escalation point for complex issues; perform diagnostics and root cause analysis across hardware, network, OS, and application layers.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed documentation, asset inventories, and system configurations. Generate and analyze regular reports on system health, patch compliance, device uptime, and service metrics.

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

Work closely with NOC, field services, and operations teams to resolve issues, deploy new solutions, and recommend improvements to processes and workflows.

Continuous Learning:

Stay current with evolving MSP, endpoint management, and automation technologies. Share knowledge with team members and contribute to a culture of operational excellence.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Demonstrate a strong interest in using technology to improve user experiences, system efficiency, and data quality. Demonstrate hands-on experience with RMM and/or MDM platforms (e.g., ConnectWise, N-able, Datto, Intune, SOTI, etc.). Have a proven ability to manage patching, configuration, and the device lifecycle at scale. Excel in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for systems, endpoints, and networked devices. Be proficient in scripting and automation for endpoint management and monitoring. Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. Produce clear documentation and support process improvements. Uphold high standards of security, reliability, and service delivery. Hold relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, ITIL, etc.) or have equivalent experience (preferred but not required).
