Job Overview

BD is seeking an Associate Director, (BD Excellence) Virtual Learning to lead the design and development of scalable, high-impact virtual learning solutions for the BD Excellence Academy. This role will focus on building engaging, digital-first programs that enable associates across functions, geographies, and levels to build capabilities in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and Lean leadership. Responsibilities Design, develop and implement virtual learning experiences that support BD Excellence core tools and pillars (e.g., Kaizen, Visual Management, Problem Solving).

Design and develop interactive, modular learning content that support self-paced, instructor-led virtual, and blended modalities.

Partner with subject matter experts, learning architects and business partners to translate BD Excellence tools into impactful digital learning.

Define curricula frameworks across proficiency levels, including core, advanced and certification-level tracks.

Leverage learning analytics and experience design (LxD) to optimize engagement, retention, and real-world application of BD Excellence Academy curricula.

Partner with cross-functional teams to define standardized use of BD's Learning Technology systems (e.g. LMS, LXP), and virtual collaboration tools for BD Excellence learning curricula.

Continuously improve digital content based on learner feedback, data insights, and evolving business needs.

Design, implement and maintain a community of practice for BD Excellence Academy facilitators.

Education Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Digital Education, or related field preferred. Certification Certification as a trainer and as a facilitator preferred. Certified practitioner in lean tools is highly desirable. Experience 7+ years of experience in learning design, with a focus on virtual and digital learning in a global enterprise. Proven ability to design learning experiences across a range of tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Rise, LMS/LXP platforms). Strong background in adult learning theory, digital pedagogy, and virtual learner experience design. Demonstrated success in building scalable, interactive virtual training programs tied to business outcomes. Experience working in a matrixed, global organization and designing for cultural inclusivity. Proven track record of Learning Agility, taking on new projects and roles and demonstrating success within an accelerated timeframe. Action-oriented individual who is highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results. Ability to translate strategic direction into execution and successfully drive change in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders. Advanced project planning and management experience, including the ability to contribute to operational, tactical, and strategic planning in support of the business plan. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate a complex, matrix organization, effectively convey new concepts, tools and strategies, and tailor communications according to the audience. Excellent facilitation & communication skills both in person and virtually, with the ability to hold individuals' attention, create excitement, and hold all team members responsible for outcomes. The capacity to plan, organize, & complete projects on time with excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive progress with limited oversight.
