The position provides in person day-to-day support to our building and code enforcement team and works with residents and businesses to help ensure building projects are completed with proper permits. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

Work collaboratively with other staff to provide excellent and responsive public service Represent the city in a courteous, responsive, and professional manner in all interactions Monitor the service counter and provide excellent customer service Create spreadsheets for monthly, yearly budget analysis/tracking and other spreadsheets for performance evaluation Enter data for monthly/annual reports required by the Metropolitan Council, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Health, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and others Manage and organize building and code filing system Ability to effectively work with technology such as online permitting software Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Manage and order office and department operating supplies and code for payment accordingly Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing Ability to work independently, effectively trouble-shoot and problem solve within established guidelines Ability to bring a can-do attitude and effectively work with others Perform other duties as assigned

Education High school diploma or GED certificate Experience Two (2) years of experience in an administrative or clerical role Trainings, Certificates, and Licenses None

Education Associates degree in office administration or related field Experience Five (5) years' experience with building inspections or comparable environment Trainings, Certificates, and Licenses Permit technician and/or plan review license(s)

Part-time employees who are employed on a schedule of more than twenty hours per week receive benefits on a pro-rated basis.

The benefit options below are applicable for regular, full or part-time employees and may vary based on labor agreement or specific position. Medical: Medica (four plan options) - City contribution for both single and family premiums, as well as H.S.A. contributions in accordance with City policy. Dental: Mutual of Omaha -Four tiers of coverage are available. Life insurance: Mutual of Omaha -The City provides a life insurance coverage for employees. Additional coverage may be purchased if you choose to do so. Short-Term Disability: Mutual of Omaha - The City offers pays the premium for this coverage which provides for up to 66.67% of your normal weekly pay, up to $400 for up to 12 weeks and is payable on the 8th day of disability. Long-Term Disability: Mutual of Omaha - The City offers pays the premium for this coverage which provides for up to 60% of your normal monthly pay, up to $3,000 per month and starts on the 90th day of disability. Additional benefits: including voluntary vision, accident, hospital indemnity, Flexible and Dependent Care Spending Accounts, 457 Deferred Compensation, and others are also available.
