Staffing Clerk UHW
Provides administrative staffing, scheduling, and payroll support to the department under general guidance and supervision of the department administrators. Essential Responsibilities: Coordinates department/unit to include daily staffing needs, making reassignments, calling replacement personnel, and canceling personnel according to established procedures. Computes and recaps hours worked on assigned timecards. Resolves discrepancies or problems by referring to master schedules or appropriate supervisor. Works closely with the Staffing Office to resolve variances in the Master Schedule. Recharges hours from one cost center to another. Responds to questions from employees regarding timecard computations; payroll deductions, and paycheck discrepancies, or refers person to appropriate department for assistance. Completes payroll adjustment form indicating payroll error on employees paycheck and forwards to appropriate supervisor for approval. Types and adjusts weekly and monthly staffing schedule and documents all changes at time of occurrence. Gathers data and prepares routine reports, as requested by Supervisor; may prepare statistical reports for area. Assists in maintaining attendance records for all unit personnel, recording tardiness, sick leave, vacation, leaves of absence, overtime, etc. Forwards timecards and transmittal to payroll for processing; receives and distributes paychecks and new timecards upon receipt. Answers incoming telephone calls for office, answers routine inquiries regarding staffing procedures, refers other calls to supervisors. Maintains and monitors file on licenses/renewals for all licensed personnel. Notifies personnel of impending license expiration and follows up on late receipts of renewals. Files a variety of documents including memorandums, letters, and personnel transaction forms. Performs related duties as assigned. Must be available to work variable shifts depending on the needs of the Department. Basic Qualifications: Experience: N/A. Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration: N/A. Additional Requirements: Administrative and organizational skills such as scheduling, payroll, and report preparation required. Typing skills: 25 words per minute. Experience in Customer Service. Experience with Multitasking. Experience with courtesy in dealing with irate customers. Working knowledge of basic computer skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to work in a Labor-Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: Word processing skills: 55 WPM preferred. Notes: This is an on-call position, days and hours may vary. May work weekend depending on department need.
