Plating Technician

Paying $27/HR to $37/HR Location - Wood Village, OR Responsibilities: Operate and monitor plating equipment and controls Manage water valves and verify tank liquid levels Move and clean plating barrels Use overhead crane to transfer parts between tanks Maintain timing and chemical levels per process instruction Ensure cleanliness of work area and plating equipment Load/unload barrels with parts (50010,000 parts/barrel) Inspect plating quality and document results Report issues to plating leads Adjust process times (e.g., acid: 210 min; black oxide: 1535 min) Assist with chemical additions and tank maintenance Maintain wastewater evaporator and general area cleanliness Log parts in GS system Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working with chemicals, fumes, and temperature variations Forklift certification or ability to operate material-handling equipment Consistent use of PPE Preferred Experience: Aerospace, defense, or firearms manufacturing NADCAP or similar plating certifications Equipment Experience (Preferred): Crane Plating barrels Sandblaster Spin dryer Wastewater evaporator Pumps and exhaust systems Education/Experience: 13 years in plating, warehouse, or metal finishing Basic problem-solving and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multi-task and follow production documentation Familiarity with plating gauges and color differentiation Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and 6S principles Environment/Shift: Family-owned manufacturing company specializing in custom commercial and industrial sewn products for the hunting & shooting Industry. Day Shift: 5:00am - 3:30pm, Mon-Thur OR 7:00am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri. Candidates will get to choose which one works best for them after the training period.
