Manufacturing Robotics And Automation Engineering, Design Lead
You will be the Manufacturing Robotics and Automation Engineering Design Lead for the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies team. Our team is tasked with the manufacturing automation and robotics for Missiles and Fire Control.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Manufacturing Robotics and Automation Engineering Design Lead, you will be responsible for providing manufacturing design guidelines in early product development cycles to ensure integration of automated solutions during manufacturing phases as well as improving existing manufacturing processes through automation techniques. Your responsibilities will include: Conceptualizing the application of automation principles to new and existing manufacturing processes (e.g., project proposal) - determining scope, milestones/deliverables, and costs - and communicating those to internal/external stakeholders. Supporting and participating in manufacturing Kaizen and DFMA events related to the application of automation and robotics solutions across MFC programs. Collaborating with external vendors to promote the use of commercially available applications to accelerate the deployment of automated solutions. This includes generating SOW, Specs, Requirements Document, etc., in support of those efforts. Supporting and participating in the design, fabrication, assembly, validation, and deployment of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems that includes automated components such as robots, conveyors, vision systems and programmable controllers. Hands-on integration of robotics, controls (PLC/HMI), end of arm tools (EOATs), and existing systems and machines. Working with engineering and manufacturing roles to understand requirements and manufacturing processes for which automation tools can be developed and deployed. Capital and IRAD planning and execution, vendor/integrator engagement, and project management activities to deploy automated solutions at multiple sites across MFC. Approximately 15% travel may be required to facilitate multi-site automation projects. Why Join Us
