A high-acuity trauma team at a leading coastal New Jersey hospital is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to provide inpatient trauma coverage on a locum tenens basis. This is a procedure-focused role within a Level II Trauma Center. Candidates must have recent trauma or surgical critical care experience and be capable of managing high-acuity patients independently. Shifts are 12 hours with a consistent 3-day workweek and a greater emphasis on nights. Temporary privileges are available for a quick start.
Assignment HighlightsLevel II Trauma Center - inpatient only
3 shifts per week (12 hours each) - consistent 36-hour week
Schedule mix: 60% night shifts / 40% day shifts
No call responsibilities
Typical patient load: 10-25 per shift
Required procedures: central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, wound repair
No first assist required
Critical care physician on service during daytime
Temporary privileges available
