A top health system on the Jersey Shore is seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist (Hospitalist) for locum tenens coverage due to a fully booked GI service line extending into 2026. This assignment is 100% inpatient consults and standard GI procedures - with no night call on weekdays and limited pager call on weekends. Advanced endoscopists handle all ERCP and EUS cases. This assignment is 100% inpatient consults and standard GI procedures - with no night call on weekdays and limited pager call on weekends. Advanced endoscopists handle all ERCP and EUS cases. Assignment Highlights
- Flexible weekday and weekend scheduling
- Weekdays: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (no night call)
- Weekends: Day shifts (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM) plus overnight pager call per defined schedule
- Procedures: EGD and colonoscopy only
- Average daily census: 25-35 patients
- One APN support on weekdays; no mid-levels on weekends
- Pre-paid travel and lodging covered
- Malpractice insurance provided at no cost
- HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active NJ license (or ability to secure)
- Comfortable with inpatient GI consults and routine endoscopy
- Available for weekday and/or weekend shifts through 2026
- Excellent consultative and hospital teamwork skills
