Job Summary
The VP of Products is a results-oriented technical leader with deep business insight and a passion for successfully bringing commercial and industrial (C&I) products to market as part of our B2B model. This executive will shape and execute East West’s product strategy by aligning customer needs, proprietary technologies, and EMS capabilities to fuel innovation, drive growth, and enhance operational performance. This role will be initially focused on two primary product categories: electric motors in integrated applications, and surge & power protection products.
Role & Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the strategic direction for East West’s proprietary product development in close coordination with executive leadership.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing product team.
  • Own and manage product P&Ls, including budgeting, cost controls, and ROI evaluations.
  • Define and evolve product roadmaps in collaboration with engineering, sales, and operations.
  • Partner with customers to identify and pursue opportunities for innovative solutions and growth.
  • Oversee full product lifecycle—from concept through production—proactively resolving challenges and mitigating risks.
  • Analyze product performance and profitability to inform future strategy.
  • Establish and enforce KPIs, milestones, documentation standards, and reporting protocols.
  • Champion the voice of the customer across the organization by gathering and translating market intelligence into actionable plans.
  • Collaborate with strategic customers to co-develop tailored product solutions aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support RFQs, NPIs, and joint development initiatives in partnership with Business Development and Sales teams.
  • Coordinate with sourcing and supply chain to ensure component cost competitiveness and supply chain resilience.
  • Partner with manufacturing on tooling, process validation, and quality assurance on all system level solutions to ensure proper market alignment.
  • Establish compliance and regulatory needs with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, to enable end market growth for proprietary products.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills: 15+ years of leadership experience within a commercial or industrial (C&I) product company, electronics manufacturing company, or a directly relevant organization.
  • 10+ years of experience developing business cases, revenue streams, and product strategies aligning with company growth and profitability objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Master’s degree in business or related field strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify market opportunities and turn them into profitable products for industrial and commercial customers.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Expertise in continuous improvement, best practices, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional and customer collaboration.
  • Direct experience in marketing and managing B2B product portfolios, especially in physical product categories involving electromechanical components or power systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-driven global environment
  • Domestic and international travel required (estimated 25%) to meet with customers, visit manufacturing sites, and attend industry events.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
