Salary: $160,000 - $250,000 per year

A stealth-mode, venture-backed AI startup working at the intersection of software and hardware is looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join its small, mission-driven team. This company has already secured capital from over a dozen top-tier investors including the same backers of OpenAI. They're tackling real-world problems across critical sectors, leveraging high-frequency sensor data and AI to predict equipment failure before it happens.

Job Details
You'll join as one of the first engineers and help shape both the product and the culture of the company. This startup is solving complex problems involving real-time sensor data, edge computing, and production-grade ML-blending Firmware embedded systems with modern software architecture. You'll work directly with the founding team to architect, build, and deploy systems that interact with real-world environments. This role is ideal for someone who has meaningful experience shipping products end-to-end and thrives in high-ownership, low-bureaucracy environments.
Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain full stack systems powering the company's predictive platform
• Develop APIs and integrate with third-party services and sensor data infrastructure
• Collaborate across software, hardware, and machine learning teams to ship production features
• Ensure systems are scalable, efficient, and production-ready
• Contribute to architecture and technical strategy alongside company leadership
• Design and implement APIs and backend services to support hardware-software integration
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and at least 4 years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience in full stack development for web-based and cloud-native applications
• Experience working with time-series or real-world sensor data and/or deploying machine learning models in production
• Experience in backend programming using Python (Flask, FastAPI, or Django)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines
  

Bonus Points:

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Frontend experience with React
• Familiarity with embedded or low-data systems
• Previous experience at a seed-stage or Series A startup
• Shipped a hardware-integrated software product
• Experience at an AV tech company or rapidly growing startup
