We are seeking a talented Associate with experience in 1940 Act-registered funds and business development company work to join our Investment Management Group in Chicago . This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal matters in the investment management arena and contribute to key developments in the structuring, offering, and regulation of registered investment companies and business development companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on the structuring, operation, financing, and regulation of registered investment companies, including closed-end funds, mutual funds, ETFs, and business development companies.
- Provide corporate and regulatory advice to boards of directors of investment companies.
- Collaborate with M&A colleagues on 1940 Act matters in asset manager M&A transactions.
- Assist in the development of innovative strategies, including rights offerings, leveraging strategies, and emerging investment company structures.
Qualifications:
- Experience in 1940 Act-registered funds and business development companies.
- A strong academic background and experience in the investment management group of a peer firm are preferred.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
