Tufts University has launched the search for the next Executive Associate Dean (EAD) of the Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) and welcomes applications. What You'll Do
The EAD reports to the Dean and supports the Dean’s portfolio, serving as a chief administrative officer. Responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning and Outcomes Assessment: Develops the school's strategic direction, reviews data, and supports departments in administrative functions.
- Governance and Representation: Represents the school at university committees, collaborates with university leadership, and communicates key information.
- Central Administrative Services: Coordinates with central admin units to meet school needs and aligns priorities.
- Financial Oversight: Advises on fiscal strategies, manages budgets, and oversees financial transactions.
- Workforce Strategy: Develops staffing plans, manages hiring, performance reviews, and talent development.
- Facilities Operations: Ensures efficient use of facilities, manages budgets for maintenance, and supports campus planning.
- Institutional Leadership: Contributes to strategic priorities, collaborates on resource allocation, and ensures alignment with donor intent.
- Technology and Risk Management: Works with TTS, manages legal risks, and supports compliance.
- Research Strategy: Collaborates to align research objectives and services.

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent skills
- 10+ years in finance and administration within academia or health systems, with proven expertise in budgeting, finance, legal, HR, and space planning
- Strong data management and analysis skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as an MBA
- Experience in academic health systems, especially with the dyad leadership model
- Experience in business development and strategic growth
Pay Range: $206,400 - $309,600, based on experience and internal equity.
