Associate General Counsel

Our client, a mission-driven real estate developer, is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their legal team focused on affordable and mixed-income housing projects nationwide.

This hybrid role (up to 3 days remote) offers the chance to work on complex real estate transactions, housing policy, and regulatory compliance - all in support of expanding access to quality, affordable housing.

Responsibilities:

• Structure and close affordable housing and mixed-income development transactions
• Advise on corporate governance and entity formation for mission-driven ventures
• Navigate federal, state, and local compliance frameworks tied to multifamily, nonprofit, and community development projects
• Provide legal support for policy initiatives, training, and contract review

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school
• 3–6 years’ experience in real estate, corporate, or affordable housing law
• Demonstrated interest or background in affordable housing or community development
• Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving abilities
