SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pmLOCATION: Winslow, MainePOSITION SUMMARY:The Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks involved in the construction of trailer base frames, walls, roofs, doors, ramps, and gates for various aluminum-framed trailers. This includes measuring, cutting, and welding of aluminum trailer components.FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reads and follows blueprints and work orders, ensuring a quality product that meets customer demands.Welds different facets of aluminum trailers, including but not limited to: tacking, clamping, and welding with proper bead size on bases and cages by the work order; ensures the quality of welds for structural integrity.Obtains raw materials from the Material Handlers.Buff out rough edges using a hand-held power grinder.Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues, including but not limited to, defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from the work order.Ensures that the finished product meets quality expectations. Strives for the highest level of quality and understands the need for continuous improvement; supports the concept of "good enough is never good enough".Maintains a clean and safe work area; works to minimize scrap, places unused material back in the appropriate area, and disposes of waste appropriately.Follows all safety procedures, wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately reports any accidents or near misses to the supervisor.Performs other related duties and assignments as required.DESIRED EDUCATION//EXPERIENCE:Minimum: previous welding experience and ability to read a tape measure.Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is helpfulPrior welding experience with aluminum or steel is desired.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Must be able to work quickly without sacrificing quality or safetyMust have a keen understanding of manufacturing processes.Must be able to measure and cut accuratelyMust possess the ability to creatively think and solve problemsAbility to read blueprints and work orders accuratelyAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong time management and organizational abilities.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programRetirement planVision insuranceEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Welding: 1 year (Preferred)
