AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to be based in the Chelmsford, Massachusetts, or Providence, Rhode Island office.

n

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2025.

n

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

n
    n
  • Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory test programs.
  • n
  • Evaluate subsurface conditions to determine geotechnical engineering properties of soil and bedrock.
  • n
  • Perform geotechnical analyses for shallow foundations including bearing capacity, sliding and settlement.
  • n
  • Conduct seepage and stability analyses for dams, levees, tunnels and natural and man-made slopes.
  • n
  • Design deep foundations for buildings, bridges, tanks, and other major structures.
  • n
  • Assist in the preparation of geotechnical data reports, geotechnical design reports, and technical specifications.
  • n
  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

n
    n
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • n
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • n
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • n
n

Preferred Qualifications:

n
    n
  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • n
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
  • n
  • Experience with Plaxis, Slope/W, and AutoCAD.
  • n
  • Experience in the Water/Wastewater/Transportation Industry.
  • n
  • Relevant intern and/or professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.
  • n
  • Ability to work with a diverse team.
  • n
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • n
  • Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture.
  • n
  • Experienced, self-directed professional.
  • n
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.
  • n
  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
  • n

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • n
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate must be available to work in Chelmsford, MA and/or Providence, Rhode Island on a scheduled basis.
