Overview: The Safety Programs and Training Manager is pivotal in planning, developing, and executing effective corporate safety and training initiatives at MV Transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Safety and Training Leaders to design impactful safety programs and foster a culture of safety awareness among front-line employees.
- Create comprehensive Safety and Training communications, including discussions, alerts, and lesson summaries based on data-driven insights.
- Maintain regular communication with Safety and Training teams regarding projects, performance, and updates.
- Work alongside Corporate Communications to ensure all Safety and Training communications align with corporate branding and standards.
- Oversee and manage content on MV Transportation's safety SharePoint site, ensuring information is current and relevant.
- Ensure compliance of safety and training programs with pertinent regulations and internal standards.
- Develop and implement best practices for training to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Incorporate technological advancements like simulators and e-learning solutions to enhance training initiatives.
- Coordinate with the Director of Operations Training to create robust training and certification programs for Drivers and Safety staff.
- Establish measurable KPIs for training effectiveness to track the overall impact of safety training across the organization.
- Lead the creation and management of corporate safety programs in accordance with regulatory and client requirements.
- Assist in the administration of safety programs in response to Business Development inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to uphold ethical standards and promote adherence to policies and best practices.
- Capacity to define and manage service standards effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for various formats including conversations, business writing, and presentations.
- Adept at building collaborative relationships with stakeholders and partners.
- Strong customer service orientation to meet both internal and external needs.
- Ability to maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders to deliver innovative training solutions.
- Results-oriented mindset with accountability for individual and team performance.
- Capability to set a coherent vision for communication and training aligned with business goals.
- Experience supervising and providing guided support for team members’ performance.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in safety and/or operations training development within transportation or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Demonstrated success in promoting a strong safety culture through performance tracking.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
