Description
nThe Gittis lab at Carnegie Mellon University is looking for a talented postdoctoral associate to interrogate the circuit dynamics underlying motivated behavior. We are looking to explore the electrophysiological properties of neural circuits connecting the basal ganglia to downstream areas in the locomotor brainstem and arousal network in health and disease. Several avenues are open to research, including behavioral studies of the neural pathways involved in long-lasting behavioral recovery in a mouse model of Parkinson's disease, and slice and in vivo physiological studies of changes in neural activity and synaptic connectivity during progressive dopamine depletion. Aryn and the lab are committed to building a supportive community for inquiry and curiosity that foster members to become better scientists and people.
nQualifications
nPhD or MD, background in neuroscience. Candidates should have prior experience with electrophysiology, behavioral analysis, and stereotaxic surgery. Additional experience in computational methods and programming (Python or Matlab) is preferred.
nApplication Instructions
nApplications, including a cover letter and a curriculum vitae indicating your interest and relevant training should be submitted electronically via Interfolio.
