Riverside Research is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Network and Systems Administrator. This position is focused on implementing and maintaining information networks and systems in a controlled information processing environment. This role supports integrated research teams who rely on availability of devices and systems using various operating systems on multiple networks in the Air Force Research Laboratories. This role is on-site only and requires a Top-Secret clearance. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.
Job Responsibilities
Configure, manage, administer, and troubleshoot information technology networks, Windows-based systems, Linux workstations, and servers in a controlled environment
Provide Tier I and Tier II support to the customer and investigate and troubleshoot issues
Develop new and maintain existing installation and configuration procedures
Ensure proper approval has been granted for each software solution prior to installation
Apply operating system updates and patches as defined by policy or as directed
Upgrade and configure system software per project or operational needs
Install, configure, and maintain hardware in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) compliance standards and project requirements
Maintain hardware and software inventories
Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
Coordinate and communicate with the Sr Systems Administrator, IA staff, research team, customer, and related constituencies
Maintain and administer data retention and recovery for all networks
Coordinate all significant information technology changes with the ISSM and ISSO prior to implementation
Recognize potential security issues and report/and or take actions in accordance with appropriate policy, process, and procedure
Independently organize and execute tasks and duties in accordance with assigned priorities with minimal supervisory oversight
Ensure that system security configuration guidelines are followed
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
5+ years experience in the following: Windows systems and Microsoft server administration Linux administration
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
COMPTIA Security+ certification or DoD 8570 IAT Level II equivalent certification
Experience configuring and managing Cisco network devices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
Strong organization skills and high initiative
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
5+ years Ubuntu or Red Hat Linux experience
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting
Prior experience working in a classified security "vault" or SCIF
Global Comp: $95,000 - $160,000
This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
