Patisserie Tomoko is a Williamsburg top quality Patisserie focusing on French pastries with the added flair of Japanese flavors that are the product of Pâtissier Tomoko’s inspirations. The McCarren Park Neighborhood Patisserie has been in business for over a decade with a loyal customer base not only from the neighborhood but all over the City. Signature pastries such as seasonally flavor-refined macaroons, fruit tarts, creampuffs are among the favorite selections of its clientele. Unaffiliated with any Food Service groups, the Patisserie is a friendly, personal establishment with a harmonious work staff. There is limited seating for dessert course patrons, take out and delivery options for the customers.

Job Description

Seeking Pastry Chef assistant. The individual needs to assist in the preparation of the basic ingredients of pastry desserts, assembly of the components, use of ovens, decorate the final product, depending on his/her skills, experience, and ability. A basic knowledge of deserts, food preparation, food safety, is helpful but not necessary as we will train each on the job. The person must first be diligent, responsible and be able to work with other fellow employees. Attention to detail and meticulous execution is a must for the job.

Working Conditions

The applicant must be able to work at least 25 hours Tuesday through Sunday. Management will be able to accommodate workload requests in excess of the 15 hours. Have basic culinary skills in preparation of ingredients. Ability to communicate in English on a conversational level to understand instructions from other staff members. As the work is done in an open kitchen setting, as well as interacting with customers, the applicant must be able to interact with the customers in a pleasant and friendly manner. Neat and tidy appearance are also a must.
