About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Associate with 5-7 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation law to join our Chicago office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled litigator who’s passionate about helping injured workers, and ready to take ownership of a robust caseload in a fast-paced legal environment. This role is best suited for somebody with a desire to build and lead our workers' compensation practice in Illinois. Responsibilities: Handle a full caseload of Illinois Workers’ Compensation cases from start to finish Represent clients in arbitration hearings, pre-trials, and settlement negotiations Draft motions, responses, and other litigation documents Manage client communications, guiding them through the process and legal options Collaborate with experts, physicians, and internal teams to strengthen case strategy Monitor deadlines, filings, and procedural compliance Provide guidance to junior attorneys or legal assistants as needed Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) and respective state bar membership required Candidate must have at minimum of 4 years of experience handling workers' compensation claims Preference given to bilingual candidates Requirements (Must Have): Strong client-facing experience in any field; ability to communicate clearly with our clients is a must Case management skills including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple clients, projects and deadlines Preferential consideration for deposition, hearing and mediation experience Superior organization skills with great follow through Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills Deadline and detail-oriented Why Join Johnson Law Group?
