We have a state of the art facility that was built in 2017 and are looking to continue to grow our strong team as our business grows!This position would be a Monday - Friday position with competitive wages.Looking for availability for the following shifts: 9:00am - 5:30pm and 12:00pm - 8:30pm. Work every 4th weekend.We offer Full health benefits, a 401(k) program with a company match and a Profit Sharing bonus program.This is a closed door pharmacy with no direct patient contact.We are a rapidly growing business with many opportunities for professional growth and advancement!To learn more about Astrup Companies, go to this link: https://astrupcompanies.com/Qualifications:Required Education/Training/Professional Experience:High School degree or equivalent G.E.DKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel; ability to work with multiple information systemsKnowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminologyPharmacy experiencePreferred Education/Training/Professional Experience:Associates degreeIV and compounding pharmacy experience.Position Summary: As a Specialty Pharmacy Dispensing Technician, you'll communicate with pharmacists and pharmacy team members and be asked to flex with the needs of the pharmacy on a day-to-day basis; become familiar with Sterling Specialty medications, their location, dispensing and shipping needs specific for various types of medications; printing shipping labels; preparing prescriptions for packing and shipping. Assists with inventory and general pharmacy tasks.Expected Professional Competencies:General knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare laws and regulationsEngages in appropriate continuing professional developmentPractices patient centered carePractices professionallyPractices legally and ethicallyDecision making skillsAnalytical skillsTeam working skillsCommunication skillsProblem Solving skillsCustomer Service skillsDetail orientedLicensure/Certification Requirements: Board of Pharmacy Technician RegistrationCore Competencies & Responsibilities:Work toward achieving certified pharmacy technician statusReceive, process and fill new prescriptions and refill requests quickly and accuratelyKeep current and compliant with statutes, rules and regulations related to pharmacyParticipate in continuous improvement and quality assurance programsRepresent company at local and state pharmacy meetings.Ensure the accuracy of prescription and patient data entered into various systems by verifying patient, drug, quantities, directions, day's supply, insurance, physician data.Communicate with various pharmacy departments as needed to coordinate timely prescription adjudication to meet schedules.Report errors, omissions or incidents to pharmacistsParticipate in quality program initiatives and improvement activitiesMaintain a flexible schedule that may include early morning, evening and weekend hoursComply with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA/HITECHOther responsibilities as assigned by Management.Maintain a clean, organized workstation while dispensing medications.Able to effectively communicate with pharmacists and fellow team members.Accurately and effectively dispense medication in a fast-paced work environment and asks for help when needed.Understands specific state laws and specific program requirements to ensure all orders have the necessary materials and proper documentation to go along with the medication.Ensures all required ancillary stickers are applied to medication bottles.Works well in a team setting and is able to adapt when necessary.Quickly and accurately prepare shipping labels. Additionally, is able to ensure special requests are accommodated.Ability to effectively train new team members during the onboarding process.Able to troubleshoot and problem-solve when issues arise.Appropriately stocks and organizes inventory with regards to expiration dating and beyond use dating.Completes all daily requirements for the pharmacy, including clean-up at the end of the day and ensuring all PHI is properly disposed ofAccurately and effectively prepares IV medications and compounds while adhering to cleanroom rules, guidelines, and regulations.Performance Requirements:Possess a thorough knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systemsComply to all Astrup Companies policy and proceduresCreate a culture of positivity and excitement within the workplaceDevelop constructive and cooperative working relationships with other team members.
