The role requires the ability to deliver well-structured, engaging trainings and presentations to various audiences. This position will represent the Northeast Health District Opioid Prevention Program through meetings, conference calls, email exchanges, and will work to close the gap between local law enforcement and state public health.As an Opioid Support Analyst within the Northeast Health District at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways Job Responsibilities Develop multi-sector partnerships (i.e, prescribers, dispensers, first responders, prevention, and treatment professionals, etc.) and collaborations with both district staff (i.e., emergency preparedness and epidemiology, etc.) and existing coalitions or through development of a new coalition to address opioid overdose prevention and response in the District communities.Facilitate collaboration with law enforcement and first responders (i.e., Fire, EMS) to introduce, assess interest in, and enroll in Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) and BioSpatial.Collaborate with first responders and law enforcement towards efforts that include outbreak response planning, data sharing, join initiatives, and policy considerations. Encourage enrollment into ODMAP and BioSpatial.Participate in monthly District PHA Conference Calls and other required calls as necessary to obtain project updates from DPH and share successes/challenges and attend DPH-sponsored trainings and events. Communicate findings with partners and leadership.Complete monthly reports, and other required reports/documents (i.e., temporary reassignment template) and submit to DPH via the Knack application.Develop and maintain an up-to-date prevention and treatment provider resource list specific to the District to disseminate among partners and public.If requested, participate in at least one Statewide Opioid Strategic Plan Workgroup.Support and/or lead local opioid or substance misuse response initiatives identified by the District.Identify high-need areas or high-need populations within the district that are more at-risk for opioid overdose, in collaboration with local coalitions, community partners, and the DPH Drug Surveillance Unit.Develop a final version of a local and/or district-level strategic plan(s) to address opioid overdose prevention and response.Effectively use slides, graphics, and narrative techniques to engage audiences during naloxone trainings and public speaking events.Develop and maintain an up-to-date district-level overdose outbreak response plans.
