Department: LaboratoryShift: NightWorking Hours: 6P-6A Sun, 5P-6A Mon, TuesSummary:Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT II) provide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with limited supervision. The MLT's job includes preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results in a timely manner in order to enable the clinician to utilize the data when making treatment decisions. Other information:Entry Level Position with an Associate degree in chemical science, biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.National Registry for Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent) preferred. Must be registry eligible.Successfully meets all standards of a MLT I.Has at least 12 months clinical lab experience.Works efficiently under supervision of experienced personnel.Completes training in at least two additional rotations, as required per hospital.Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills which allow for the analysis, interpretation, and valid conclusion to be made during data collection and during mechanical or scientific procedures.Must possess good communication skills with the public and other hospital staff.Completes a promotion project approved by the career ladder committee.Possesses the desired attitude and knowledge for Other duties as assigned.This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
