Takes direction from the Operations Manager to ensure the customer's needs are met by leveraging our processes and technology to drive efficiency. Excellent operational execution will make an impact on our customer's supply chain through problem resolution on issues related to scheduling, carrier compliance, and general exception management.Duties and responsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Builds strong business relationships through quality execution to meet customer specifications and expectations. Enters customer load data into the Transportation Management System (TMS). Updates load status in TMS, e.g. loaded, pick-up, delivery, empty, etc.; provide sufficient comments for communication to customer as necessary. Schedules and/or reschedules pick-up and/or delivery appointments for all loads. Proactively notifies shipper and/or receiver of changes when necessary. Completes driver information activities when required. Provides detailed directions and instructions to properly route drivers. Collaborates with the customer for exception management. Corresponds with customer and carrier regarding detention and other accessorial information. Conducts quality assurance checks of critical operations activities, identifies and records defects as required. Leverages processes, procedures, and technology to troubleshoot and resolve problems, including identifying issues, thinking critically to determine the best course of action, implementing solutions, and escalate to appropriate next level manager. Validates all load data prior to marking load as delivered (for accounting purposes) including verification of financial data and completion of the approve by sales activity as directed. Proactively communicates any pertinent information to the appropriate parties electronically and/or verbally. If needed, implement a corrective action plan and elevate potential service issues as necessary. Investigates product overage, shortage and damage (OS&D), and completes the appropriate documentation (initial steps). In accordance with customer requirements and managerial guidance, conducts route/load planning and consolidation of customer orders, reconciles established rate levels with available purchased transportation providers, and identifies new carriers to provide service at competitive rate levels after primary work hours. Occasionally executes recovery/exception-based spot loads and source for trucks and carriers to complete movement of customer's freight within predetermined guidelines.
