ERP Project Manager
Chicago area steel service center seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new ERP system and drive operational efficiency across our growing organization. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven track record in technology and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead implementation of new ERP system, managing transition from current system to newer platform.
Provide post-implementation user support to employees at multiple company locations, including training, troubleshooting, and documenting best practices.
Coordinate with external consultants and technology providers to manage ERP version upgrades, test new features and configure changes.
Evaluate, recommend and implement ERP system enhancements to take full advantage of available system functions.
Prepare regular status reports outlining project progress and critical decisions.
Streamline existing procedures and workflow to optimize benefits of ERP system.
Collaborate with production and administrative managers to develop, prioritize and manage future projects to improve operational efficiency throughout organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, or related field
Minimum 7 years’ business experience including at least 3 years in manufacturing or information technology
In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and business software applications.
Proven leadership and project management skills with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of manufacturing including plant processes and quality management systems such as ISO 9001, is a plus.
