Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing & Authorization Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring our providers are properly enrolled with insurance payers and that patient services are authorized efficiently and accurately. Collaborating closely with our billing, clinical, and administrative teams, you will support credentialing and prior authorization workflows for medication management and neuropsychological testing services, playing an essential role in our mission to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Credentialing
Prepare and manage credentialing and recredentialing applications (commercial, Medi-Cal, Medicare Advantage, IPA plans)
Maintain CAQH profiles and payer directories
Follow up on enrollment status
Coordinate provider onboarding with HR
Maintain organized credentialing records
Support rosters, audits, and special projects
Authorizations
Submit and track prior authorizations for psychiatry services
Use payer portals, fax, or phone to request approvals
Track expirations and renewals
Record authorization details in EMR and billing system
Qualifications
1–2+ years credentialing and/or prior auth experience (mental health preferred)
Familiarity with CAQH, PECOS, Availity, and payer portals
Understanding of insurance types (HMO, PPO, Medi-Cal, Medicare Advantage, IPAs, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Skilled in both Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
Strong understanding of payer processes and EMR systems
Familiarity with behavioral health and California networks preferred
Knowledge of authorizations for medication management and neuropsych testing
