Job Summary Institute for Orthopedics & Chiropractic is looking for one Clinical Assistant to join our team, offering chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, dry needling and functional medicine. https://www.iocpllc.com

Hours and Location:

St Paul- Monday 7:45AM-5:15PM* Edina- Tuesday-Thursday 7:45AM-5:15PM* Friday 1:15PM- 5:15PM as needed*

Edina: 6550 York Ave. S. Suite 600 St. Paul: 2550 University Ave W, Suite 143N

Responsibilities

Follow IOC workflows and policies to ensure a safe, clean, and collaborative workplace and excellent patient experience

Greet and room patients

Assist doctors with patient charting/electronic health records following IOC workflows and policies

Instruct patients in doctor-directed home exercise and self-care programs

Provide specific, doctor-directed manual therapy/soft tissue techniques to patients

Administer therapeutic ultrasound

Ensure completion of prior authorizations and other required paperwork

Openly and proactively communicate with the doctor regarding important patient information such as referrals, medical records, X-rays, requests, worker’s comp and motor vehicle information and prior authorization and treatment schedule

Confirm expectations for daily patient schedule with doctor and communicate with front desk and or billing as needed to resolve issues or make adjustments

Maintain treatment rooms (e.g., daily cleaning, which includes vacuuming, wiping down equipment, and stocking supplies when time is available.) and regularly inventory supplies, communicating via Teams when supplies are low

Proactively contribute to a clean, safe and collaborative workplace (e.g., checking the laundry and cleaning gym equipment during down times; offering to assist other team members, when time allows, etc.)

Participate in team and all staff meetings

Qualifications

Good verbal and written communication skills

Proficient typing and computer skills

Basic knowledge of anatomy and exercise

Experience in a clinical setting preferred

Chiropractic or physical therapy clinical experience a plus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to type, carry, handle and feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception in the window environment and ability to adjust focus.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers as well as gym equipment and ultrasound machines.

Local travel may be required 5% of the time.
