The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, company standards, and customer requirements by performing detailed inspections of aviation components. This role involves overseeing inspections and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) processes. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete first run articles with support from engineering. Monitor shelf life and properly segregate expired chemicals throughout the department. Verify all maintenance and repair tasks are performed correctly and in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings, and regulatory requirements. Ensure traceability and accuracy of all documentation required for regulatory compliance. Work closely with production teams to address and resolve quality concerns in real-time. Conduct thorough inspections of aviation components to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, industry standards, and company quality assurance procedures. Perform inspections of incoming, in-process, and final accessories to verify adherence to specifications and quality standards. Use precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to inspect parts and assemblies for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Review and interpret technical documents, drawings, and CMM reports to ensure accurate inspections. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to address and resolve quality issues. Guide the workflow and direction of employees within the inspection process. Act as a key point of contact for quality-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to quality inspectors and other team members. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 7+ years of inspection or relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience. Advanced knowledge of aviation components functionality. Ability to determine product configuration at the piece part level based on technical documents, product design, training, and past knowledge. Decisiveness in product acceptance decisions. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers & calipers) and inspection equipment. Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and CMM reports. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively. Dependability and accountability demonstrated through a proven track record. Ability to maintain a positive attitude, resilience, and adaptability to changing priorities. Ability to meet vision standards for near and distance visual acuity. Proficiency in reading and writing English. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 8+ years of experience in quality inspection within the aviation industry, focusing on MRO. Experience with quality management systems.
