Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the procurement of quality products and services in accordance with established Federal Regulations, State Statutes, Board Polices, and Office Procedures.
Qualifications/Skills:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in procurement, business administration or related field. TASBO and/or CPPB/CPPO Certification required within three years of hire. Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must be proficient with common computer programs such as Excel and Word. Ability to take initiative. Demonstrate problem-solving strategies and practical solutions. High quality communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize work and multi-task successfully. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with end-users, co-workers, patrons, administrators, etc. Strong organizational skills Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and meet required deadlines. Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in the procurement of supplies and services with a school district. Skilled in scheduling and follow-up.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Requisitions workflow - approval of shared Purchasing queue, including adding commodity codes to line items and checking that all vendor requirements have been satisfied (background checks, contracts/coops listed, quotes attached, insurance attached). Processing an average of 50-150 requisitions per day. Solicitation Folder Organization and Digitization- Working with the buyers to prepare solicitation folders to be stored electronically, including but not limited to: collection and organization of paper documents, scanning documents and organizing electronically on the department shared drive, and records maintenance. Work with buyers to organize agenda items before the Assistant Director reviews (adding vendor numbers and cooperative information, if necessary). Assist with the Agenda review process each month and process items if the Administrative Assistant is out of the office. Assist with processing records requests i.e. SBISD personnel, requests outside SBISD, including former students and outside agencies. Provide support in vendor process to create, activate, and update vendor accounts per EDGAR Contract requirements Process new vendor requests through PaymentWorks Process background checks Expedite outstanding purchase orders. Oversee the expediting of purchases and facilitate deliveries. Ensures compliance of purchasing operations with federal, state, Board policies and regulations Excellent written and oral communication and public presentation skills, as well as attention to detail and good organization and planning skills are essential for this position. Maintain confidentiality and excellent public relations with all parties. Resolve complex issues concerning terms and conditions, price, delivery, etc. Other:
Participate in cross-training. Serve as back up for vendor specialist and office manager. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public. Physical Demands:
Repetitive hand motions. Prolonged use of the computer. Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Lifting documents weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to work independently, long hours having increased responsibilities. Environmental Factors:
Exposure to temperature extremes (hot or cold) Exposure to humidity extremes.
