Job Summary:
Bizzell US has an immediate need for an Energy Conservation Manager at NASA's AMES in Mountainview, CA. The Energy Conservation Manager will spearhead efforts to enhance energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and promote sustainability across the campus. The role requires extensive experience in energy management, project coordination, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The manager will develop and implement energy conservation strategies, monitor energy usage, and ensure compliance with JPL's stringent standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement energy conservation strategies and programs tailored to unique operational needs and goals.
•Monitor and analyze energy usage data specific to the facilities to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
•Conduct detailed energy audits and assessments across various JPL buildings and infrastructure to identify energy-saving opportunities and recommend actionable solutions.
•Collaborate with engineering, facilities, and operations teams to implement energy-efficient technologies and practices.
•Coordinate with in-house architects, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to integrate energy conservation measures into project designs and operations.
•Develop and maintain comprehensive energy management plans for JPL, including goals, timelines, and performance metrics.
•Prepare and present detailed reports on energy performance, savings, and project outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
•Ensure compliance with all relevant energy regulations, standards, and best practices.
•Educate and train JPL staff on energy conservation practices and the importance of energy efficiency.
•Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in energy management and sustainability, with a focus on applications relevant to NASA AMES.
•Regularly compile and submit monthly Natural Gas Consumption Reports for energy-intensive facilities at NASA AMES, ensuring timely delivery by the 30th of each subsequent month.
•Track and report monthly natural gas consumption data for energy-intensive facilities, identifying areas for potential energy savings.
Requirements
Key Qualifications:
•Strong knowledge of energy management principles, practices, and technologies, particularly in high-tech and research environments.
•Experience conducting energy audits, assessments, and performance evaluations in facilities.
•Proficiency in data analysis and energy monitoring tools specific to research and development facilities.
•Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting standards for scope, schedule, and budget.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders within a research and development setting.
•Knowledge of relevant energy regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to high-tech and research institutions.
•Experience with energy management software and systems used in research environments.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
•California Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical PE).
•Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar certification is highly desirable.
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
•LEED Green Associate certification.
•CAL/OSHA Certificate (Construction Jobsite Safety and Health).
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or sustainability, with a proven track record of successful project delivery in complex and large-scale facilities.
Preferred:
•Experience working in a research or academic institution, particularly with NASA or similar organizations.
•Knowledge of sustainable building practices, renewable energy technologies, and smart building systems relevant to research and development facilities.
•LEED accreditation or experience with green building certifications.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
