Information Architects are leaders within HCA's Information and Analytics organization and are responsible for defining and implementing data management practices across the enterprise. This role will provide strategic architectural direction that enable sustainable solutions for customer strategic business initiatives. This role will focus on enterprise information strategies and may specialize in organizational areas including data strategy, architecture, access, stewardship, and usage. This position will design and drive the underlying organization, structure, and nomenclature that define the relationships between data and application design layers to construct the larger vision of how disparate systems interact. Information Architects lead strategic initiatives that source and incorporate new data sources into the Enterprise Data Ecosystem. They identify and define the linkage of data within and across subject areas, and are experts within their area of the organization. This role demonstrates expertise in data content, which can only be facilitated through much query, analysis, and engagement in our business operations. Information Architects are experts in the organization providing solutions to complex business and IT solutions. Extensive experience in data integration is very important in this position as well as exposure to Business Intelligence tools and concepts, as a strategic goal of the organization is to build an integrated and enterprise grade Business Intelligence environment. This knowledge enables this role to drive innovation and recommend best practices to drive strategic remedies to multifaceted organizational obstacles. What you will do: Provide leadership on key technology choices for Enterprise Data Ecosystem including data warehouse, analytical and big data platforms. Facilitates innovation and product and process improvements to align the solution to the organizations overall strategy. Developing strategic implementation frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple domains. Architect and implement enterprise data management practices, standards, and frameworks for Data Architecture, Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Data Integration, Data Security, Big Data, and Data retention processes. Lead the development team through analysis and strategic implementation of applications leveraging multiple data sources. Facilitate the mapping and auditability of information assets as they flow from upstream legacy, package, or custom development to downstream applications, thus ensuring optimal transparency, quality, consistency, and controlled redundancy across the enterprise. Ensure good design principles are incorporated at all levels of implementation including database and application layers. Architect, manage, and own full data lifecycle from raw data acquisition through transformation to end user consumption. Maintains a holistic view of information assets by creating and maintaining artifacts that illustrate how information is stored, processed, and accessed. Developing data models as necessary for enterprise data management and analytics encompassing conceptual, logical, and physical models. Ensure existing data/information assets are identified, stewarded, and leveraged across the enterprise to meet strategic organizational objectives. Ensure a focus on information/data quality by developing and publishing enterprise data standards such as a common business vocabulary, naming conventions, data standards, transformation rules, and related enterprise consistency specifications. Translate various strategic program requirements into a usable enterprise information architecture, which may include an enterprise data model, associated metadata, common business vocabulary, ontologies, and taxonomies. Ensure architectural, quality, and governance adherence through design reviews. Manage efforts building consumable data lakes, analytics applications, and tools. Work closely with individuals across the technology organizations to help promote awareness of the data architecture and ensure that enterprise assets of competence are leveraged. What qualifications you will need: Bachelor's degree required. 10+ years of experience in Healthcare required. 10+ years of experience in Information Technology required. Clear understanding of HL7 messages, data warehousing, data architecture, and data integration options. 5+ years of Data Engineering experience working with both distributed architectures, ETL, EDW, and Big Data technologies. Ability to communicate complex problems effectively. Strong leadership skills, personal drive, and ability to see projects through to execution in a complex, fast-paced environment. Manages and prioritizes time and resources with extreme efficiency. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data, and offer solutions to complex clinical problems. Excellent written and oral communication capability and presentation skills; persuasive, encouraging, motivating, and inspiring; the ability to listen and understand. Flexibility and creativity to be successful in meeting exceedingly tight project timelines. Displays business and technical acumen. Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making. Proven ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete objectives. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. ITIL framework and process understanding required to meet overall HCA requirements for change, problem, and incident management - preferred. Extensive experience with relational database management systems; Teradata, Oracle, or SQL Server preferred. Significant experience with data modeling tools, PowerDesigner Studio, or ERWin preferred. Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write, tune, and interpret SQL queries; tool specific experience in the RDBMS's listed above is ideal.
