Position Description: Outpost Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Network and Communication Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge network and communication systems to support Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS). This role will be at the forefront of innovation, real-time data processing, network security, and RF communication. Position Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and deploy secure network architectures for C-UAS operations. Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Develop and implement communication systems, including voice, data, and video transmission. Integrate C-UAS sensors and communication systems into existing networks. Monitor network and communication system performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Use specialized equipment such as signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve communication system issues during integration and testing. Conduct RF interference analysis and optimize wireless (Mobile Ad Hoc Network, Point-to-point, Combat Net Radios, etc.) communication systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams- including systems engineers and cybersecurity teams to ensure integration of secure data transmission. Support C-UAS software and hardware integration efforts. Document network and communication configurations and provide technical guidance to stakeholders. Basic Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in network engineering, communication systems, or cybersecurity, with at least 5 years of experience focused on secure communication systems within a defense or highly regulated environment. A minimum of 3 years of direct experience with C-UAS or related military defense systems is highly desired. Expert-level proficiency in TCP/IP networking, including subnetting, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and network security best practices. Extensive experience configuring and troubleshooting VPNs (e.g., IPsec), firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA). Strong understanding of communication theory, modulation techniques (e.g., QPSK, QAM), coding scheme, and multiple access techniques (e.g., TDMA, FDMA). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with RF testing and characterization of communication subsystems using signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of RF signal processing and wireless communication. Experience with satellite and radio communication systems. Familiarity with AI-driven threat detection. Experience with CUAS technologies or military defense systems is a plus.
