OVERVIEW The Senior Manager of Retail Learning is a visionary leader responsible for architecting and executing a comprehensive learning and development strategy that elevates the global retail organization. This role is instrumental in shaping the future of ALO retail education, ensuring that every team member around the world is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and inspiration to deliver a consistently exceptional guest experience and embody the brand’s values across all touchpoints. This senior leader partners cross-functionally with key stakeholders to design and implement scalable, innovative learning solutions that drive performance, engagement, and operational excellence. They lead a high-performing team of training managers and facilitators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and best-in-class execution. RESPONSIBILITIES Define and evolve the long-term learning and development strategy for all global retail regions, aligning with enterprise goals and future workforce needs. Serve as a thought leader in retail training and digital learning, influencing senior leadership and cross-functional partners with insights and recommendations. Champion a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and performance across the retail organization by leveraging learning and multimedia technologies. Own the skilling and ongoing coaching of trainers, including direct professional development and arranging supplemental cross-functional programming, holding them accountable to ongoing development of facilitation, leadership, and educating acumen. Leverage Training Stores as centers of excellence for onboarding retail leaders, maximizing these stores to own and drive leadership onboarding and upskilling and skill refinement to support leadership growth pipelines and adapting strategies to drive the highest levels of execution at all times. Demonstrate, measure and report on the impacts of education efforts, Training Stores and New Store Opening Inductions on an ongoing basis. Leverage KPI results to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities; adjust quarterly strategies with business partners to enhance field performance and outcomes. Prioritize and manage training program & NSO budgets, trainer travel schedules and optimize key door visits from SMEs for development impact. Contribute to the vision, direction and delivery of high-quality training content, including videos, activities, modules, and workshop materials for use in stores. Adapt all learning content for global regions, accounting for local nuance, languages, and cultural resonance. Monitor and adjust the New Store Opening Induction strategy, budget and schedule to ensure the success of upcoming store launches. Collaborate with training and digital education teams on the deployment strategies for major program rollouts and ensure timely, consistent execution across regions. Utilize trainers within districts to extend the reach of initiatives, ensuring regular educational moments and consistent messaging at the store level. Track and monitor the completion of training modules and initiatives, ensuring alignment with KPIs and company objectives. Analyze data following program rollouts, including ongoing inductions, to assess the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement. Provide quarterly performance updates and strategic recommendations to business partners and senior leadership based on field insights and data. Partner with Human Resources, Marketing, Design, Visual Merchandising, Operations, the International team, and senior leadership to align educational content with key business priorities. Maintain and evolve brand messaging across all content and programs to support the company’s mission, vision, and values. Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to stay ahead of product launches, brand initiatives, and operational changes. Help to manage, mentor, and develop a team of trainers and digital education authors to ensure they are equipped to meet business objectives and grow in their roles. Partner with District & Store Leadership to oversee the timeline and workload of trainers, ensuring balance between deployment responsibilities and content creation efforts.
