Position Summary: We seek an Associate Sourcing Associate for our packaging category to oversee our packaging supply base, ensuring supply continuity and supporting inventory, strategy, and NPI. Reporting to the Director of Global Supply and Sourcing, this role involves working closely with cross-functional teams like Supply Planning, Finance, and Logistics. Responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, providing key details such as MOQ, lead times, payment terms, and costs, and supporting packaging strategy to ensure a resilient supply chain focused on quality, service, cost, and innovation.
The role also involves supporting day-to-day interactions with suppliers, delivering business reviews, developing partnerships, and understanding packaging technicals and the supplier landscape to execute sourcing processes for strategy and new projects. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be a skilled negotiator, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and resourceful environment, especially within a young, growing brand.
What You'll Do:
Collaborate with Supply Planning and Logistics to ensure supply continuity
Manage daily relationships with packaging supply partners
Support cross-functional teams by providing clear KPIs
Develop item-level details for packaging projects
Conduct regular business reviews to drive performance
Support packaging strategy for a resilient supply chain
Create tools for continuous sourcing improvement
Assist in contract negotiations and MSA maintenance
Knowledge Requirements:
3-5 years of packaging experience in biotech, life sciences, or manufacturing with third-party suppliers
Understanding of packaging technicals
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Proficiency in Google Sheets or MS Excel
Six Sigma or APICS certification preferred
Critical thinking and continuous improvement mindset
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Travel, Demands & Environment:
Occasional travel to manufacturing sites
Hybrid work model, reporting to San Francisco 2-3 times weekly
