Primary duties and responsibilities:
Test Administration, State Accountability & Oversight:
Coordinate all procedures related to the administration of local and state assessments including, but not limited to required state assessments (AASA, AzSCI, ACT Aspire, ACT, Alternate Assessments) local benchmark assessments, local diagnostic assessments, and any other school-wide assessment identified and assigned. Work cooperatively with directors, other leaders, and StrongMind IT departments in planning and supervising the procedures for administering local and state assessments. Ensure the ordering and use of all local and state assessment materials. Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff on requirements of the state assessment and school-wide assessment programs. Provides professional development, technical assistance, program monitoring and fulfills special requests for assistance relating to data on student academic achievement. Work with school leaders to monitor academic progress through seasonal analysis of interim assessments and evaluation against school goals. Provides disaggregated data and summary reports from multiple data sources relative to student achievement outcomes and comparative data to assist leadership and staff with instructional improvement. Disseminate information regarding current requirements of the state assessments program including test administration, security, and confidentiality. Identify needs and provide sites applicable resources in a timely manner. Monitor all testing sites during the administration of state assessments. Implement assessments (e.g. local performance assessments). Conduct meetings for the proper functioning of the Assessment & Accountability department. Data Analysis, Interpretation, & Presentation:
Assist school leadership teams in data analysis and goal setting. Provide and present evaluation findings (including student achievement data) for the review of program effectiveness to multiple stakeholders. Conducts district needs assessments, school level assessments, and surveys. Possess a basic understanding of technical characteristics of tests, especially types of scores (norm- referenced and criterion-referenced), validity, and reliability. Clearly and effectively present assessment reports to a variety of audiences. Be able to use, interpret, and explain basic statistics. Advise on data sources to support curriculum, instruction, assessment, and curriculum adoptions. Provide training on authentic or performance-based assessment, program evaluation, test administration, data analysis and interpretation, and performance reporting. In collaboration with directors, deans, and other leaders establish qualification criteria for academic support programs (Basic Skills Improvement, Bilingual/ELL, and Gifted and Talented) and career and theme academy programs. In collaboration with directors and other leaders develops proficiency checklists, portfolios, report cards, and other instruments to assess, record, and/or report student progress. School-wide skills, abilities and expectations:
Maintain a professional code of conduct, including but not limited to professional language, actions, and attire. Maintain professional confidentiality of personal and private matters pertaining to students, parents, and co-workers. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Maintain positive and proactive customer service in all aspects of communication, both internally and externally. Prioritize work and handle multiple tasks while working independently. Display excellent planning and organizational skills. Work under pressure, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines and deal with difficult situations while maintaining composure, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Knowledge of assessment principles and design Knowledge of curriculum standards Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements of state assessments and state accountability requirements Technical writing skills Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Ability to interpret and explain data to a variety of audiences Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets with knowledge of pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students in a virtual setting Confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and interactions Collaboration with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive virtual learning environment The Successful Candidate possesses:
Experience working in a virtual learning environment Knowledge of best practices in online student engagement and behavior management. Understanding of relevant state regulations and policies related to online education and student conduct. Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in a virtual setting. Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the field of online education and student support. Energetic and positive approach to responsibilities. Arizona Principal Certification or currently enrolled in an administrative certification program Preferred Bachelor's Degree Required Arizona Teacher Certificate Required Testing / Testing coordinator experience at the secondary school level desired (State or benchmark testing)
