Role Summary As a Director, Client Development - Life Science, you will be responsible for relationship development, project development, sales campaigns, and business planning within the Life Science markets. You will lead clients through business case development, front-end planning, and project development for manufacturing and distribution-focused capital investments, applying sound judgment and facilitating robust cross-functional solutions. You will be supported by a team of industry and project delivery experts experienced in converting capital initiatives into commercialized solutions. You will collaborate with our AEC team, including leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts, to develop design-build and EPC projects. Success is measured by your ability to win new business, expand existing relationships, deliver rewarding client experiences, and contribute to scaling our AEC business through market development, client acquisition, and expanding our service offerings. Responsibilities Provide leadership in developing capital projects for the Life Science markets. Lead and collaborate on front-end programming, planning, schematic design, and preconstruction of projects as design-build or EPC solutions. Develop and execute client development and design-build solutions to meet business goals, focusing on sourcing and building new client relationships and maintaining existing ones. Build long-standing client relationships based on trust, technical excellence, and superior service. Expertise in client and project development, including proposals, contracts, planning, zoning, real estate, and project budgets aligned with client investment objectives. Ensure overall project success by meeting scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and operational performance objectives. Analyze and develop technical solutions for new and existing cGMP facilities. Maintain knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Mentor and guide other AEC professionals within the firm. Assess market trends, plan client and business development strategies, and evaluate account performance. Communicate opportunities and relevant information regarding targeted clients and contacts. Assist with RFPs, client pursuits, marketing campaigns, presentations, and industry events. Strengthen relationships with clients and internal teams through day-to-day impactful engagement. Requirements 15+ years of experience leading the development, design, and construction of facilities, including programming through operations turnover. Leadership skills with a focus on expanding local, regional, and national clients. Experience in structuring and leading design, design-build, and EPC projects for cGMP manufacturing and distribution facilities. Understanding of operational requirements, flows, automation, environmental classifications, and regulatory standards. Ability to anticipate market trends, adapt to change, and seek continuous improvement. Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for client relationships and decision-making processes. Strong communication skills for impactful presentations and consensus-building. Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships and projects. Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes. Experience with greenfield, brownfield, renovation, and expansion projects. Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
