Program Director of Recreations

will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of recreation programs for a predetermined number of residential facilities across designated regions within New York. This role combines clinical awareness, creativity, leadership, and logistical planning to deliver recreational experiences that support social-emotional development, build resilience, and encourage healthy lifestyle habits. The Program Director will supervise a team of recreation coordinators and supervisors and collaborate closely with clinical, educational, and administrative teams to ensure that recreational programming is safe, enriching, and developmentally appropriate. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and oversee year-round recreation programming that includes sports, arts, fitness, outdoor education, adventure therapy, and special events. • Oversee and approve trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive activities that promote social inclusion and personal development. • Report progress and incidents to the Director of Facilities. • Conduct site visits to residential facilities to ensure program quality and staff support. • Grow the Recreations team to the program’s fullest potential. • Ensure all programs are aligned with organizational goals and youth developmental needs. • Regularly assess and refine program effectiveness using staff input and performance metrics. • Build relationships with community organizations to expand programming opportunities. Qualifications: Required: • At least five years of experience working with youth, including at least two years in a supervisory or program leadership capacity • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, youth development, and behavioral support strategies • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills • Ability to work with a remote team and meet reporting deadlines Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or a related field • Experience in a residential, foster care, or juvenile justice setting What We Offer: • A dynamic, mission-driven work environment • Opportunity for professional development and growth • Base salary range: $90-120K, depending on experience • The chance to make a positive impact in the lives of New York’s youth at a crucial stage Seniority level
