Position Overview The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) works closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, manage staff, and ensure product quality and inventory management. The ASM takes full responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager.
The ASM leads front-end operations, manages team schedules, oversees hiring and training, and ensures excellent customer service. They also work on sales and profit strategies, control expenses, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage store operations focusing on front-end service and cash management.
Develop staff schedules, oversee departments, and make operational decisions in the Store Manager's absence.
Handle inventory issues, evaluate product quality, and resolve stock problems.
Supervise, coach, and evaluate team members, including performance reviews and development plans.
Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
Promote effective communication and teamwork, enhance customer satisfaction, and support sales goals.
Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in decision-making, delegation, and conflict resolution.
Organizational, administrative, and financial skills.
Basic computer and systems knowledge.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; some college preferred.
At least three years of retail management experience preferred.
Availability to work flexible retail hours.
Physical ability to stand, lift up to 40 lbs, and perform related tasks.
Additional Information Salary range: $77,091 - $101,182. Must adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and participate in ongoing training and development.
