The Integrated Resource Planning Team seeks a Senior Energy Policy Analyst/Project Manager to oversee programs and provide policy and technical analysis supporting California’s resource and infrastructure planning efforts. This includes leading energy policy and compliance on our Integrated Resource Planning Procurement Team. You will be tracking progress toward renewable energy procurement to support California’s climate goals. This position is authorized by Governor's Budget (Leg) - System Reliability and Outages (AB 2368). In this role, you will contribute to addressing critical challenges related to climate change and energy planning in California. Due to the project complexity, statewide impact, monetary scope, and policy development level, projects assigned will require close attention from Commissioners, Administrative Law Judges, and executive management. You may also interact with the media, Legislature, and other agencies. Specifically, the duties and responsibilities of the Senior Energy Compliance Data Analyst/Project Manager may include: Providing a senior lead role in determining compliance of electric utilities with energy procurement requirements. Conducting research and technical analyses on complex energy policy and market issues with moderate guidance. Developing creative solutions to analytical problems considering market and policy implications. Participating in developing and refining parts of complex regulatory proceedings within a team environment. Representing the Energy Division and/or the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) in high-profile settings. Collaborating with other state agencies and stakeholders to achieve statewide clean energy goals. Organizing and facilitating workshops and stakeholder meetings, presenting at industry conferences, and preparing reports as needed. Assisting Commissioners, advisors, management, and decision-makers on relevant issues. Reviewing and commenting on pending legislation and responding to inquiries from the public and legislative staff.
