As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Job Responsibilities Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches. Lead a team of high-potential software engineers to deliver high-quality software that meets functional objectives. Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, and debug code written by others. Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability. Lead evaluation sessions with stakeholders to drive outcomes-oriented discussions on architectural designs and technical applicability. Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and use of new technologies. Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to foster innovation. Implement data governance and ensure data quality and compliance. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills Formal training or certification in Software Engineering with 5+ years of applied experience. Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security. Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc. Proficient in Java 21 and Python, with experience building into public cloud and CD/CD strategies. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills Deep knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems. Experience with cloud-native applications. Experience building AI/ML-driven applications. Continuous learning mindset. Proficiency in Agile and SRE cultures. Knowledge of NoSQL databases like Apache Cassandra. Knowledge of messaging technologies like Apache Kafka. Experience developing RESTful APIs for service integration. 7+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS preferred).
