Position Summary
As a Test Director at Oceaneering, you will have a hands-on role, directly involved in the testing processes for our cutting-edge technologies and systems. From planning and executing test programs to analyzing results and driving continuous improvement, you will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Your expertise in test strategy development, team leadership, and collaboration will be essential in driving innovation and delivering exceptional results.

Demonstrating ability and willingness to perform hands-on testing work regularly in physically demanding environments, including ship or submarine engine rooms, involving tasks such as carrying pumps and other related activities.
Duties And Responsibilities
Direct test operations, ensuring testing is performed according to approved procedures.
Review test procedures, TGIs, and OQE to meet all requirements.
Ensure all testing or operations are listed on the LAT / TPOD and/or SPOD before proceeding.
Obtain approved changes if testing or operations are not listed on the LAT / TPOD.
Brief personnel supporting the test on requirements; brief the Shipyard and Watch/Duty Officer on test status.
Hold test team members accountable and follow all instructions concerning test documents.
Conduct thorough boundary installation checks and test setup as directed.
Review procedures prior to testing and resolve questions or concerns.
Stop work if safety or procedures are compromised.
Brief supporting personnel on test requirements.
Review test results and take corrective actions as needed.
Restore systems to a safe condition and notify the Duty Officer upon completion.
Develop and maintain test plans, work packages, and supplemental instructions.
Provide technical support, interface with engineering, planning, and production.
Develop and process tag outs and related documentation.
Coordinate daily with project personnel and other test organizations.
Participate in project meetings and provide technical input.
Qualifications
EDUCATION :
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field, or AS degree with relevant experience, or completion of a Shipyard Apprenticeship Program with supervisory experience.
EXPERIENCE :
At least five (5) years experience in submarine or shipboard structural, mechanical, or electrical systems repair/installation.
Minimum six (6) years of technical knowledge and operational experience with Naval Submarine and/or Surface HM&E systems.
Knowledge of SUBSAFE & Level 1 requirements, testing, and certification processes.
Expertise in testing certification and recertification for U.S. Navy submarines and ships.
Experience with HM&E systems like hydraulics, power generation, switchboards, batteries, and communication systems.
At least four (4) years experience with Dry Deck Shelters (DDS) HM&E maintenance and deep submergence systems.
Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance and be a U.S. citizen without dual citizenship.
KNOWLEDGE :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft; strong communication skills.
Understanding of government and commercial contract requirements.
