Job Description
CSCI Consulting is looking for a detail-oriented
Financial Management Analyst
to support a federal agency's Office of Finance. This role focuses on strengthening financial reporting, audit resolution, risk assessments, and payment integrity efforts across the Department. The ideal candidate will have experience navigating federal regulations, coordinating cross-functional reporting, and advising on internal controls and program risk.
Responsibilities
Support the development of financial reporting materials, including sections of the Agency Financial Report (AFR), and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submission of data and narrative content
Contribute to Department-wide audit resolution and internal control efforts by reviewing findings, assessing risk, and supporting the development of policies and corrective actions
Assist with risk assessments and payment integrity initiatives by gathering and analyzing data, maintaining program inventories, and supporting compliance with OMB and Treasury guidance
Coordinate responses to high-level data calls and support development of materials for public transparency platforms such as PaymentAccuracy.gov
Analyze process inefficiencies and help design strategies to improve internal financial systems and data collection methods
Support working groups, training sessions, and development of briefing materials to enhance understanding of financial integrity, audit readiness, and program risk across the organization
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in federal financial management, audit support, or risk assessment
Familiarity with OMB Circulars (A-123, A-136), the Payment Integrity Information Act (PIIA), and federal reporting standards
Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional presence
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting financial management or audit programs within a federal agency
Knowledge of federal transparency platforms such as PaymentAccuracy.gov and MAX.gov
Familiarity with enterprise risk management (ERM) and internal control assessment frameworks
Ability to synthesize complex regulatory information into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
Past experience working with a federal agency
Department of Defense experience is a plus!
