Job Summary
Adient is seeking a Controls Engineer to develop, maintain, and improve automation control systems essential to the production of automotive seating and overhead systems. This position is available for B or C Shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in PFMEA analysis.
Lead Kaizen, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects.
Identify and implement error-proofing requirements throughout production.
Plan for process impacts due to engineering changes.
Participate in root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities like 8D.
Contribute to equipment purchase specifications.
Support maintenance troubleshooting of equipment issues.
Troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and data functions in Control Logix processors.
Maintain PLC documentation and archive programs.
Support I/O devices connected to PLCs, including HMIs, sensors, and relays.
Assist in troubleshooting pneumatic circuits and electronic/motorized equipment.
Review and comment on equipment control drawings.
Maintain controls drawings in electronic and paper formats.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent 5 years of experience.
Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix 5, RS Logix 5000, ControlLogix, and PanelView software is required.
